06 · Mulch & Pine Straw
Beds refreshed. In a day.
Mulch and pine straw are the most-visible work we do, and the most-screwed-up by other contractors. Wrong material, wrong depth, dyed cheap stuff fading to gray by July, "trench" edges that disappear in two weeks. We do this part right.
01 · What's included
Different beds want different materials. Pine straw under mature trees and on slopes, hardwood for ornamental and foundation beds. We don't blanket-sell one product.
02 · When to book
Most yards do one mulch refresh in spring (April), when faded mulch gets noticed and beds need cleaning up after winter. A second touch-up in late summer / early fall keeps it looking fresh through autumn, especially if you entertain.
Pine straw lasts about 6 months. Hardwood mulch lasts about 9–12 months at proper depth. Don't add more than 3" total; anything thicker keeps water out and rots crowns. We'll remove excess if a previous contractor over-mulched.
Spring beds book up quick. Get a quote on the books now and we'll schedule the refresh for when your beds need it, you don't have to wait until the mulch has already faded to gray to reach out.
If your beds need a re-design (not just a refresh), that's landscaping, not mulch, and it's a different conversation.
03 · Pricing
Mulch is priced per cubic yard installed (most beds need 1–4 yards). Pine straw is priced per bale installed. Both include the bed-line re-cut and weed clean-up. Most residential bed refreshes finish in a single visit and run $400–$1,200 depending on bed footprint. Existing customers get bundled rates.
