What Leaf Removal Costs in East Tennessee, and Why We Charge a Flat Fee

Nobody around here publishes leaf removal prices. Here are ours.

Search “leaf removal cost” and you get national directory sites quoting national averages. A national average does not price your yard, your trees, or your county. So here is exactly what we charge in Blount County and what moves the number.

The number

Our standard package is $300 to $600 for typical residential properties, two visits included. First visit in the first few weeks of November, second in the first few weeks of December, timed to catch both the early maples and the late oaks and to have the yard clean before family arrives for Christmas. Every quote includes:

  • Full-yard blow: front, back, sides, and beds
  • Beds cleared with the mulch left in place
  • Driveway, walkways, porch, and patio blown clean
  • Leaves hauled off site, or vacuumed to the curb where your city collects there
  • A final walk-through with photos

Everything on that list is in the base price.

Gutters are the one add-on. We price them by how hard they are to reach and how much is sitting in them, and it is the cheapest time to ever do your gutters because the crew and equipment are already there. What you are buying is a fall cleanout of leaves and needles, not a full gutter cleaning. If water is backing up or dumping in the wrong place, that is a drainage problem and a different job. Lawngevity maintenance customers get priority scheduling for leaf removal.

What moves the price inside the range

Three things, in order of weight:

  • Tree count and canopy. A yard under two mature oaks is a different job than a yard with one dogwood. More canopy means more volume, and volume is most of the work.
  • Lot size. More square footage takes more time even under identical trees.
  • Haul-away versus curbside. Hauling costs more than piling at the curb for city pickup. In Maryville, curbside can make sense if you time it against the city’s zone schedule. In the unincorporated county, hauling is usually the whole point.

Send your address and we’ll get you a number, usually from a drive-by, no appointment needed, quoted before anyone starts work.

Why we will not charge by the bag

Some crews price leaf work per bag or per hour, so the total isn’t known until the work is done. We quote the property as a flat fee, both visits included, and you know the total before anyone starts.

When the cheap quote costs more

A per-hour or per-bag quote looks cheaper until the second visit. Sometimes the cheap number works out. When it does not, the pattern is predictable: the front yard got blown and the back did not, the beds still hold six inches of leaves against the shrubs, or the pile went over the fence line into the neighbor’s yard and now there is a second problem. A cleanup that leaves the mat in the beds and the back corners costs you exactly what the mat always costs, a thinner lawn in spring, plus what you paid the guy.

Good work costs more than that. It also only has to be paid for once.

What is included visit by visit is on the leaf removal service page. If you would rather work your city’s free pickup, the rules are here: Leaf pickup rules in Blount County.
